Overview
Brú Theatre and Rodrigo Pargo present Brú Theatre’s newest show, returning to Galway International Arts Festival after Somnium (GIAF 2024) and Not A Word (2003)
A new site-responsive work inspired by the life of Galway writer Pádraic Ó Conaire, Pádraicín transforms the city into a living stage.
Audiences gather in Eyre Square and move alongside the performers through the streets to the Spanish Arch. The audience wear headphones as scenes unfold around them, Ó Conaire’s characters and ideas drifting into view.
Blending dance, music and text, past and present intertwine in an immersive theatrical experience.
Presented primarily in English, with some Irish.
